Anti Spam Program
One of the most frustrating things about checking our email now-a-days is waiting for 400 pieces of
unrequested, unwanted email to come in just to read the 5 pieces of email we really wanted to receive.
The stress of wondering if in your haste you've deleted an important piece of email you really wanted to
receive and the annoyance at having to waste your time every time you open your email is unnecessary.
MVA.NET has completed their Beta test period and due to difficulty of use - a common problem for
Anti-Spam programs - and other glitches, we have decided not to implement use of this product.
We had input as many filters as possible into our mail server while trying not to include any that might effect
legitimate email, and this was working great up until the spammers discovered how to send their junk
without showing the subject line until after it has gone through the mail server - effectively
escaping the notice of the filters.
If only they spent that much time and effort on legimate endeavors, we'd have world peace, eliminate
famine, and deveop medical cures even for the diseases we haven't discovered yet! However, they are
happier simply filling our boxes with junk - offensive junk quite often at that.
MVA does recommend that you input filters directly into your email program. It will require a lot of time
to go through every email you get that you don't want, and to update it continually as they change,
add new addresses and subject lines, etc., however, it is essentially the same process you would have
to go through with any anti-spam program.
