For browsers that support loading a proxy automatic configuration file (in the format supported by most versions of Netscape and by recent versions of Microsoft's Internet Explorer), configure them to use the URL

proxy.mva.net:8080

For other browsers, you will need to specify the proxy server for HTTP only, either listing the hostname wwwcache.ox.ac.uk and port 80 separately, or combined as a pseudo-URL:

proxy.mva.net:8080

Some older versions of Microsoft's Internet Explorer do not permit you to configure the proxy settings within the browser; instead this must be done through the Internet icon within the Control Panel folder.

Unix web browsers that do not provide configuration menus may need environment variables defined, similar to lynx although the detailed requirements may be different.

You may need to check the browser's documentation for how to specify the proxy server details.
